Halfway home (sort of)
We have now left the sunny shores of Australia behind for the rather cooler climes of New Zealand. Since New Zealand almost reaches to 180 degrees east longitude and we usually reside close to 0 degrees longitude, we're essentially as far away from London as we can get.
Australia and New Zealand both feel pretty remote. We had a great time during our three weeks in Oz and are hoping for more of the same in NZ. The temps in Australia were generally OK, not generally going much above 30 degrees, which is fine with us. New Zealand is generally much cooler, with temps in the low to mid 20s. On our first night in Auckland we even had to take out the fleeces, which we hadn't used since our night camping in the desert in India in mid-November!
We'll try to post some pics in the near future, rather than bore you with these all-text entries. We never seem to have our camera wires with us when we're in the internet cafes.
